For years, nobody outside of the small islands of Bermuda and The Bahamas had ever heard of Octopi. Even those that were familiar with the tales thought they were only legends. But in 2007, a scuba diver came face to face with three of these creatures. Below is an excerpt from his report, describing these fascinating mammals.
Of the three Octopi I met that day on the atoll, Dip was the oddest of them all. To say that he was excitable would be a huge understatement. Dip didn't appear to be content unless he was making someone – or everyone – laugh. He would try just about anything to get a laugh. His antics included bouncing coconuts off his head to see how long he could stand it before he got a headache, making bathroom noises and blaming them on Pearl and sticking his thumb in his mouth and blowing his head up like a balloon. I don't think five minutes went by without Dip pulling some prank or gag. For me, though, all Dip had to do was look at me and I would bust out laughing. He just has one of those faces.
