Grippa

For years, nobody outside of the small islands of Bermuda and The Bahamas had ever heard of Octopi. Even those that were familiar with the tales thought they were only legends. But in 2007, a scuba diver came face to face with three of these creatures. Below is an excerpt from his report, describing these fascinating mammals.

Grippa is the largest of the three Octopi that I met and definitely the least talkative - although that doesn't mean much, because all of the Octopi love to gab. Grippa told me he was “more the strong, silent type” and then proceeded to display what he called his “feats of strength.” These consisted of breaking open oyster, clam and other shells, as well as lifting rocks, twice his size, over his head. These feats of strength really impressed the other two Octopi and they applauded loudly after each demonstration. After each feat, Grippa grunted, strutted about and said things like, "That's what I'm talkin' about!"

The other Octopi told me that Grippa's lifelong dream was to become a masked, professional wrestler, and that he had been training ever since he was a little ‘Pi (as the young Octopi are called). Apparently, professional wrestling is a wildly popular form of entertainment and the wrestlers are held in high esteem by everyone in Octopelego. Judging from Grippa's commitment to training and his enthusiasm for the sport, I think he's going to do very well for himself.
