Pearl

For years, nobody outside of the small islands of Bermuda and The Bahamas had ever heard of Octopi. Even those that were familiar with the tales thought they were only legends. But in 2007, a scuba diver came face to face with three of these creatures. Below is an excerpt from his report, describing these fascinating mammals.

I thought Pearl was the most fascinating of all the Octopi. While she definitely enjoys a good laugh and can talk your ear off about any subject, Pearl also has an earnest side to her. It was Pearl that explained that the Octopi's distrust of humans is because of our mistreatment of the oceans and marine life. But, fortunately Pearl appeared to have no animosity towards me or any other human; she simply wished that we would change our ways.

Pearl has a sweet, melodic voice and moves with the grace of a dancer, which in fact, she is. Grippa told me that Pearl is a bit of a celebrity due to her dancing prowess and that she is greatly loved by the little ‘Pi in her dancing classes. Her enthusiasm for teaching is amazing; several times during our visit, Pearl would like the other two Octopi up for one dance routine or another. Before each routine, Peal would steady both Grippa and Dip with the refrain “Ready boys, let's kick it.”
